In 1965, Berann painted a series of Caribbean island panoramas for the National Geographic Society. These nine views — from the Virgin Islands to Grenada — capture each island's topography in vivid bird's-eye perspective, a rare application of his Alpine panorama technique to tropical volcanic landscapes.
